Unwelcome Mat was inspired by the kitschy plastic grass welcome mats that dressed many suburban stoops where I grew up. Unwelcome
Mat, however, is comprised of hundreds of plastic toy army men.
Unwelcome Mat will be on exhibit at the BITE
identity and humor exhibition at Greater Reston Arts Center from June 23 to July 29, 2011. Opening reception Saturday June 25th.
It was also exhibited at the Clara M. Eagle Gallery in Murray, Kentucky
September 19 - November 4, 2008! at Think Tank: An international show of work exploring contemporary political issues including
the environment, the death penalty, the war in Iraq, immigration, homeland security, and the election process itself. |
